Vibroflot Compaction is a widely used method for improving reclaimed land by deepening the compaction of granular soils with less than 10 –15% silt present. Under the impact of simultaneous vibration and saturation, loose sand and gravel particles are pre-packed into a denser state with higher levels of lateral pressure on the soilmass itself. This deep compaction technique is conducted with the help of a heavy crawler crane or a stuff loading machined called a piling rig.
The equipment involves a cylindrical vibrating device, which is being suspended from the crane and advanced into the ground using a power generator. In addition to that, the Vibroflot also uses a steel probe to gently loosen the soil and then force the finer elements into the interstices among the coarser elements.
Therefore, the Vibroflot Compaction technique combines the synergy of vibration and saturation which provides quick, efficient and durable deep compaction of soils, with minimum disturbance and noise pollution.
