Recently, APIE’s single-load transportation rotary drilling rig KR125A and KR90A participated in the construction of supporting facilities at the permanent site of WuXi World Internet of things Conference. After providing assistance in the construction of WuXi seventh People's Hospital, LiangXi District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, HuiShan District First People's Hospital and BinHu District river renovation, APIE has once again contributed to the infrastructure construction of WuXi.
The project is located in the southwest of the intersection of ZhenZe Road and QingShu Road in the WuXi Economic Development Zone. The construction unit is WuXi International Conference Center Co., LTD. The total construction area of the project is about 10 hectares, and the total built-in area is about 207,000 square meters, including the 130,000 square meters above ground and 77,000 square meters underground, they will be mainly utilized as conference center and hotel. As the permanent venue for the World Internet of Things Conference, this project will create a world-class international convention center for TaiHu New Town upon completion, creating a new dazzling urban center for this city.
WuXi is mainly made up by alluvial lake plain and lacustrine plain with a developed surface drainage system. Besides TaiHu Lake, the BeiJing-HangZhou Grand Canal runs through the urban area; the XiCheng Canal and XiBei Canal connect to the Yangtze River; the LiangXi River and YangXi River link to the TaiHu Lake. The construction site’s geological condition mainly consists of backfilled stratum, silty clay, and interlayer silty clay; the construction site is close to TaiHu Lake, where the underground water level is high, combines it with the fragile silty soil and silty clay stratum (soft plastic state), there’s a high level of construction difficulty, and hence, mud wall protection technology was utilized. The diameter of piles utilized is 800 mm with a depth of 21m. TYHEN utilized operators with more than 5 years of experience to strictly control the drilling speed and the speed of drill pipe lifting & lowering to effectively prevent hole from collapsing. The average hole forming time is within 50 minutes, which greatly increased the construction efficiency, shortened the construction period, and has created great value for the clients.
